EFCA seeks to improve the lives of Central Asia’s most vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities (PWDs), orphans, women, and those affected by conflict. With a decline in the level of support from the government, these groups often find themselves isolated, with few resources and limited access to basic rights and services. EFCA is working to increase incomes, protect rights, and improve the quality of service provision for vulnerable groups.

In the words of President Nazarbayev, one of the goals of the national development strategy “2050 – The Course for an Established Government” is to achieve “social security and well-being of citizens. This is the best guarantee of stability in society.” EFCA believes that this statement is particularly relevant for representatives of vulnerable groups. For this reason, EFCA is working to contribute to increased quality of life for vulnerable groups through:

  • organization of seminars to increase the quality of social services
  • development of  informational resources and materials for awareness-raising among target groups
  • development and promotion of social standards for government services
  • development of comprehensive solutions to child protection issues
