Working meeting on the project "model of access to fifth-wheel coupling to persons with disabilities in rural areas"

Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan - August 5, 2016 Public Fund "Alpamys" within the framework of USAID's "Initiative to Support Effective Governance" with the support of the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia Foundation for the project "The Model of Accessibility of Special Social Services for Persons with Disabilities in Rural Areas", meets working group.

The project "The model of accessibility of special social services for persons with disabilities in rural areas" is aimed at improving the mechanisms for the implementation of special social services (hereinafter referred to as SSA) at the legislative level, taking into account the real situation, the territorial characteristics of persons with disabilities in rural areas. The project is implemented through social partnership with state bodies and NGOs working in the sphere of rendering assistance to disabled people.

During the project implementation period, joint work was carried out with the GU "UKZiSP" of the Almaty region, the employment divisions of the Aksu and Kerbulak districts, akims of rural districts, social workers to study the situation of people with disabilities in rural areas and provide them with SSAs. In the course of the working meeting, based on the achieved results, it is expected to develop a package of documents on introducing amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Special Social Services" and the Standards for the provision of special social services in the field of social protection of the population.

Public association "Association of parents for the care of disabled children and with disabilities in psychophysical development" Alpamys "carries out its activities in the field of social adaptation and inclusion of persons with disabilities and their families in a full-fledged life directly through their participation.

Location of the working meeting: Taldykorgan, ul. Kabanbai batyr 26, in the building of the State Administration of Coordination of Employment and Social Programs of the Almaty region.
