Winners of the Small Projects Competition of the Initiative to Support Good Governance attended a grant seminar in Astana
Astana, Kazakhstan - July 10, 2015 - The EFCA project team, together with the USAID representative in the city of Astana, held a grant seminar for the seven winners of the small projects competition. Participants of this grant had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the requirements for financial, programmatic, and communication-related reporting for the implementation of their projects, ask and discuss relevant issues, and sign a sponsorship agreement. Each organization will receive funding of up to $20,000 USD for the implementation of projects lasting 8 months.
Public organization "Desenta" (Pavlodar). The "Involvement of the urban population in the process of managing and solving the problematic problems of Pavlodar through the introduction of the geo-information system" project is aimed at solving the problems of urban management through the joint efforts of the municipality and city residents.
NGO "Children of Chernobyl and Aral" (Kyzylorda). The "Prevention of social orphanhood" includes the introduction of a pilot integrated model for the provision of special social services, which will reduce the increase in the number of refusals to take in children, and increase the effectiveness of preventive measures in Kyzylorda. This project also includes the creation of an interdepartmental group on the management of issues regarding social orphanhood.
Public Association "Rainbow" (Kostanay). The "For those who are always there!" project is aimed at developing legislative proposals for determining the status of guardians of disabled children over 18 years of age.
MOO "Union of Youth of Temirtau” (Temirtau). The “My Representative” project will focus on the creation of a universal mobile application and web-resource that will help create a mechanism for interaction between the deputy corps and the Kazakhstani population.
ZUBR Social Corporate Fund (Ust-Kamenogorsk). The "model of integrated special social services - a client-oriented approach to managing the system" project aims to create and test models and mechanisms that will launch systemic changes in the provision of special social services and improve their quality in the areas of social protection, education, and health.
Petropavlovsk Regional Association of Consumer Cooperatives of Apartment Owners (Petropavlovsk). The "Increasing the accountability and effectiveness of the KSK through the introduction of public control and the involvement of owners in the process of electronic management of their home" project is aimed at developing the interaction between apartment owners and representatives of state housing/communal services with cooperatives of apartment owners via an electronic portal.
NGO "Charter for Human Rights" (Almaty). The "Dialogue between state bodies and civil society on the promotion of Kazakhstan's international obligations" project is aimed at the Republic of Kazakhstan’s fulfillment of its international obligations in the field of human rights following the consideration of the reports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the thematic decisions of convention bodies.
