The introduction of opioid substitution therapy (OST) for HIV prevention in Kazakhstan
Almaty, Kazakhstan - July 11, 2016, PF "Aman-Saulik" in the Kazakhstan Press Club (Almaty, Samar-2 mall, 58, Furmanov St., corner of Al-Farabi Avenue, Business- center "СӘТТІ", entrance 1, 2 floor) will hold a press conference on the following topic: "Introduction of opioid substitution therapy (OST) for HIV prevention in Kazakhstan".
The press conference will highlight the results of the project:
- Based on the results of 4 Public hearings held in the cities of Almaty, Aktau, Atyrau, Shymkent on the expansion of the pilot project opioid substitution therapy (OST) for HIV prevention and drug addiction among injecting drug users in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- share the recommendations of participants in the regional public hearings.
Within the framework of the press conference, the ceremony of awarding journalists-winners of the contest for the best and reliable coverage of the topic of opioid substitution therapy in the media will take place.
Aman-Saulik" in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republican Center for AIDS Prevention and Control with the support of the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia under the USAID USAID Initiative for Effective Governance.
