The AES Company Group will build a new preschool and donate it to the city

On February 18, 2015, a memorandum on mutual cooperation was signed between the akimat of Ust-Kamenogorsk, the AES Group in Kazakhstan and the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia Corporate Fund in order to implement a project for the construction of a new preschool.

As part of the implementation of the program of corporate social responsibility in accordance with the memorandum between the AES Group in Kazakhstan and the East Kazakhstan Oblast Akimat on the implementation of service projects from 2014 - 2016, beginning on February 20, 2014, Shulbinskaya HPP NPP LLP and Ust- Kamenogorsk HPP, part of the AES Group in Kazakhstan, have allocated funds within 320 million tenge to the Eurasia Fund of Central Asia for the construction of a preschool building with 140 spots in Ust-Kamenogorsk.

After its construction, the preschool building will be donated to the city. According to the signed memorandum, the Akimat of Ust-Kamenogorsk has determined the site for the construction of the building in accordance with the general plan for the city’s development — the area surrounding Mashinostroiteley St. in the regional center (the area of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Valve Plant) — and reaffirmed the high demand for the building among microdistrict residents. 

The city Akimat agreed to support the implementation of this service project, including the timely resolution of issues related to necessary communications, the connection of a new kindergarten to municipal utility networks, and the acceptance of the preschool building into communal ownership free of charge upon the completion of the construction.

At the signing ceremony, Alfiya Jumaeva, vice president of the AES Corporation in Kazakhstan, said, “creating conditions for the education of the smaller citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan is of great importance for the future of our country, and we are happy to make our small contribution to this noble cause. AES will make every effort to successfully implement this project, and together with its partner, the Eurasia Foundation Central Asia, we hope to see you all at the opening ceremony of the preschool in Ust-Kamenogorsk next year."

This project is the next social initiative of the AES Company Group in Kazakhstan. In previous years, AES Group companies implemented a number of significant social projects in the EKR, including a new, up-to-date burn center at the emergency hospital in Ust-Kamenogorsk, a kindergarten for 160 children in the city of Semey, ambulance cars for medical institutions, and more.
