Round table on a "barrier-free information environment"
Astana, Kazakhstan-on September 9, 2016, the Institute for humanitarian research and projects, together with the Kazakhstan Confederation of disabled persons, in the framework of the USAID "initiative for effective management" with the support of the "Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia", hold a round table on the theme: "Barrier-free information environment."
The main purpose of this meeting is to discuss the issues of improving national legislation in the field of access to information, the implementation of the best international experience in providing access to information for persons with disabilities, the development of recommendations to the competent authorities on improving legal, institutional, technological and other mechanisms to ensure the right to access to information.
The round table will present the final results of the research project "Barrier-free information environment", implemented by the Institute for humanitarian research and projects. In particular, it concerns the issues of generalization of foreign and domestic experience in the field of information accessibility to persons with disabilities, as well as the results of testing of Internet resources of state bodies, national companies, media, political parties on the basis of the methodology developed by the Institute.
The round table will be attended by deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of state bodies, international organizations, NGOs, public associations of persons with disabilities, members of the Legal Council of the party "Nur Otan", scientists, experts, media representatives.
