Our priority: the nation’s health!

Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan - February 2-3, 2016, The public association "Initiative Support" is holding a seminar on increasing the potential of the local community in social auditing.

The seminar will present the experience of countries which have used social audit tools to effectively involve citizens in local decision-making processes regarding the implementation of state programs, effective mechanisms of accountability, and methods of actively involving the population in discussions of pressing issues.

Increasing the role of the public in decision-making at the local level and encouraging constructive dialogue and cooperation with government bodies, medical institutions, and business structures in the Kyzylorda region will positively affect the receipt of guaranteed free medical care. The skills and tools of social auditing obtained during the seminar will be used as a mechanism for public participation in monitoring a socially significant state program on affordable guaranteed medicines and the provision of medical services, and will also serve as examples for application in other socially important areas.

The project "Our priority: the nation’s health!" is being implemented within the framework of the Initiative to Support Good Governance with the financial support of the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
