Opioid substitution therapy in Kazakhstan: how to realize the right to accessibility
Almaty, 19 October 2016 - "Aman-Saulyk" public foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Narcology of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS within the USAID / PEPFAR program "Initiative to support effective management" on the project " Improvement of the legal framework for prevention, testing and treatment of HIV / AIDS in Kazakhstan" is holding a press conference to draw attention and bring to the public the need to scale up opioid substitution therapy in the Republic of Kazakhstan to reduce the rate of HIV spread and to provide a more effective method of treatment of drug dependency.
Aman-Saulyk foundation within the framework of the project "Improvement of the legal framework for prevention, testing and treatment of HIV/AIDS in Kazakhstan" announces the start of a competition among the national and regional media for the best and reliable coverage of issues of increasing the availability and sustainability of OST in the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the results of which will be selected 3 winners.
