Civil servants study the experience of social entrepreneurs

On October 17-20, 2017, the Academy of public administration under the President of Kazakhstan in Astana hosted a special seminar for civil servants from all regions of the country on the development of social entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan.

Seminar trainers  - Rinad Temirbekov, Executive Director of the EFCA and Andrew Baciwa, Пroject Manager at EFCA.

The main topics of the seminar were the analysis of international experience of development and support of the social entrepreneurship, review of the current level of development of the social entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan, the role and place of the state in the development and support of the social entrepreneurship, public-private partnership (PPP) as a tool of interaction between the state with social entrepreneurship and etc.

Special guests of the seminar were Meruert Argimbayeva (charity shop "Joy"), Emin Askerov (workshop "GreenTal"), Bibisara Beysenbaeva (pension "House of generations"), Arman Tleubaev (expert in the field of PPP), Natalia Yantsen (expert in the field of taxes); Talgat Doskenov (Chairman of the Committee of social sphere and social partnership of NCE RK), Leila Aitmukhanova (Director of relations with state authorities of the company "Chevron"), Zhanar Dzhaksylykova (British Council project coordinator).

During the seminar, each participant had the opportunity to try on the "hat" of a social entrepreneur, to face the pressing problems and challenges of social entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan, as well as to offer options and scenarios to overcome them.

The EFCA team hopes that such seminars will contribute to building a more effective dialogue between all stakeholders in the development and support of social entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan.
