Atyrau hosted а kurultay (meeting) of social entrepreneurs

On December 6, 2017, the second Kurultai (meeting) of social entrepreneurs of the Atyrau region took place in Atyrau as part of the Zharkyra program implemented by the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia with the financial support of Tengizchevroil LLP.

Тhe Kurultay is a platform for active residents of the Atyrau region to exchange ideas for innovative social solutions. At the Kurultai, the results of the 2017 Zharkyrа program are summed up and all those who help to promote social entrepreneurship in the region are thankful. The winners of the 2016-2017 Zharkyra competition shared their success stories. Master classes were led by the well-known social entrepreneur, founder of the Public Foundation "Sport Concept," Anna Shelepova, who spoke about personal branding, why it is necessary, and how to build it. Successful businessman Olzhas Suleimen shared his vision of social entrepreneurship through the prism of successful business.

"Being on the Kurultai of social entrepreneurs last year, I could not imagine how much I will get into this atmosphere of kindness, positive, new knowledge, kind and noble deeds. It seems that I always did what I loved, but here I learned that it turns out that I'm a social entrepreneur," says project finalist Sharbat Bisalieva.

"Thanks to the project, I became acquainted with interesting people who can and need to learn a lot, who have such great goals and a huge soul and heart, and are ready to do good for people. I believe that our acquaintance with the Zharkyra project and with everyone who has a relationship with him is not accidental. We can work together for the good of people, and every year, there will be more and more like-minded people. A huge thank you to all the organizers of the project!"

In 2017, within the framework of the Zharkyra program, 7 social and entrepreneurial projects in the amount of $ 62,730 were supported, including 5 projects from Atyrau and 2 projects from the Zhylyoi district. These projects will cover up to 1,000 residents of Atyrau and Zhylyoi District.

The Zharkyra program for supporting social entrepreneurship (JV) in Atyrau and the region for 2016-2017 is implemented by EFCA with the financial support of "Tengizchevroil" LLP through social investment projects. A joint venture is a business with a social mission that helps society to solve actual problems in an innovative way. Inside the Zharkyra program, the whole cycle of support for the joint venture is provided: selection of applications, training, and a competition for obtaining funding for projects and consultations.
