A webinar on emotional intelligence in social entrepreneurship will be held in Almaty

The Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) and the Almaty Management University (AlmaU) NGO Expert Center will conduct a webinar on emotional intelligence in social entrepreneurship as part of the NGO Expert Capacity Building Initiative, implemented with the support and partnership of Chevron in Kazakhstan.

The training will be held online on February 22-23 from 16.00 to 18.00 (Astana time) using the webinar site of the NGO Expert Center.

Participants of the webinar are representatives of NGOs with an interest in social entrepreneurship or are themselves social entrepreneurs.

Social entrepreneurship is an entrepreneurial activity, the purpose of which is to solve or mitigate social problems. Many potential entrepreneurs are stopped by fears and insecurities that they will be unable to establish contacts with business partners, assemble a professional team, or succeed more generally. This applies not only to communication skills, and is called emotional intelligence (EQ).

Modern studies show that in order to be a successful entrepreneur, one kind of intelligence, i.e. IQ, is not enough. Statistics show that among the successful managers who were surveyed, 80% have a high EQ and only the remaining 20% have a high IQ.

The webinar will be conducted by Ainur Absemetova, who is an expert in the development of civil society and has extensive experience in conducting professional trainings and developing programs and training materials on the organizational and institutional development of NGOs. Ainur also has experience in managing and developing media projects and international programs in the field of civil society in cooperation with UNDP, USAID, PACT WorldWide, Internews Kazakhstan, Counterpart International, PYXERA Global, and the Peace Corps.
