Project Goal:

• Increase awareness of social entrepreneurship models among stakeholders from non-governmental, business, and academic sectors in Kazakhstan.

Project Objectives

• Promote cooperation and partnership among key stakeholders.
• Disseminate best practices in social entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan.

Project Activities:

• Hold seminar on “How to Develop an Effective Social Entrepreneurship Program” for interested stakeholders.
• Conduct a series of coordination meetings on social entrepreneurship.
• Identify and document best practices in the sphere of social entrepreneurship through an open competition.
• Publish a collection of Kazakhstan-based best practices in social entrepreneurship.
• Hold an information campaign, including public talks and master classes, to increase awareness about social entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan; present publication of collected best practices among stakeholder groups, including universities, NGOs, government agencies, and businesses.

Anticipated Results:

• Develop a social entrepreneurship handbook which includes definitions, detailed descriptions, international practices, and Kazakhstani case studies.
• Publish and disseminate 500 copies of the handbook in Russian and Kazakh langugages.
• Increase awareness among stakeholder groups regarding social entrepreneurship models and best practices.
• Create a single database of social enterprises active in Kazakhstan.
