Seminars on social entrepreneurship

Seminars on social entrepreneurship will be held in Atyrau on February 22-24.

With these introductory seminars, a new cycle of the Zharkyra Program for the Development of Social Entrepreneurship is beginning, launched in 2016 with the financial support of Tengizchevroil LLP through social investment projects.

Time: February 22-23, 1st stream - from 13.00 to 16.00, 2nd stream - from 18.30 to 21.30; February 24 (in Kazakh) from 10.00 to 17.00.

Program manager Aigul Tagatova, coordinator Irina Gorbachenko, and business coach Askar Sekherbayev will tell participants what social entrepreneurship is, what methods of searching for social business ideas and resources exist, how to monetize their ideas, and how to take part in the Zharkyra program and receive from 1.5 to 3 million tenge for the realization of their idea.

The Zharkyra program provides an entire cycle of support for social entrepreneurs: selection of applications, training, competition for obtaining funding for projects, exchange of experience and mentoring.

This is the third year of the implementation of the Zharkyra program. In 2016-2017, 13 socially-oriented businesses were supported, which are successfully developing, significantly improving their business performance, and providing services to more than 17,000 residents of Atyrau and Zhylyoi Districts.

Social entrepreneurship is a business with a social mission that helps society solve relevant problems in an innovative way. It has long and successfully been practiced in different countries to effectively solve the acute problems of society by citizens themselves. Supporting social entrepreneurship is helping the state solve social problems. This is smart charity; it is the realization of the ideas of active and not indifferent citizens.
