Kuryk hosts training camp for schoolchildren

In early November, a training camp was held in the Mangistau Oblast for 9th grade of secondary school students in the village of Kuryk  (gymnasiums, schools No. 1 and No. 6). The camp was attended by more than 100 students, including those living in Eraly and Appak. The trainers were experts from the Republican Center for Youth Development "Zhaңa Ұrpā." The organizers were assisted by 11 volunteers - pupils of all 11 grades and college, who participated in the camp in June 2017.

The main goal of the camp was to unite pupils from different schools in the harmonious development of the village. The camp combined an entertainment and a development. The camp program made for the development of skills that the school does not have time to give to children. For five days, the students received knowledge and skills in leadership, teamwork, creative thinking, oratory schools, project work, and overcoming fears and internal psychological barriers. These skills will help adolescents reveal their abilities and talents and decide on their future professions. All participants of the camp were satisfied and expressed their desire to participate in such events in the future.

During the camp, the guys wrote a "good deeds program," in which they listed the deeds and actions that they will do to develop the village and help people in need for several months. Camp participants have already cleaned garbage in some areas of the village, landscaped some sites, visited veterans, patients in the hospital and children in kindergartens. Now pupils of the ninth classes are preparing for the concert "Youth against drugs" for pupils of their schools.

"All these 5 days were special, filled with wonderful moments. It is impossible to convey in words. I express my great gratitude to all the trainers, wave-makers and organizers of the camp. From each coach, we got a certain life lesson. We learned a lot of things, learned to trust each other, appreciate friendship ... We cried together, and laughed, and swore. We proved that we can be leaders. Of course, all this was not easy. We passed a lot of tests. Thanks to this teamwork, we have achieved success," admitted Manshuk Oteuliyeva, participant of the training camp.

"I express great gratitude to all the organizers of the camp, so in 5 days we were taught to be kinder, respect our elders, help those who are younger, think about every step, listen to your heart, appreciate what you have, patience. We have learned to trust others, to achieve our goals, to not miss opportunities in life, to be able to forgive, to be braver, to resist life's difficulties. Now we know how to be leaders, not to miss opportunities in life, to be able to choose a profession, to believe in oneself, to be responsible, open, sympathetic, bold. We spent this vacation with great benefit. I will never forget this camp," said another member of the camp, Janylsyn Armankyzy.

The camp is organized by EFCA in the framework of the "Learning Together" program, implemented with the support of ERSAI Caspian Contractor.
